Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime.
Job Purpose
Performs tasks/activities associated with the transportation of material/equipment and
personnel to/from work sites and operation of heavy vehicles during asphalt paving operations
Key Responsibility Areas
Receives instructions from superior and/or communicates with the Asphalt Paving
office to establish details of tasks (vehicle, materials and personnel).
Inspects safety devices, controls, lubricant levels etc. on vehicles and reports defects.
Observes and/or participates in the loading / offloading of material and equipment and
corrects deviations from safety procedures.
Transports personnel, material and equipment to/from specific locations.
Completes relevant information e.g. tally sheets, log sheets, progress reports etc and
related forms (vehicle checklist).
Operates heavy vehicles, e.g. Tip trucks, Water trucks, etc.
Controls the utilisation of materials (sand, stone, crusher run, etc.) and discharging/
offloading required quantities of materials.

Essential Requirements
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC).
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
2 Years relevant experience.
