Key Outputs
• Assist a turner machinist / automotive machinist in minor repairs to salvageable iron at the machine shop to OEM standards and customer requirements while maintaining an orderly and safe workplace.
• Primary duties are to operate the sandblasting machine, drill and tap, grinding and cylinder head pressure test machine.
• Assist the artisans in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and / or components.

• Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the mechanic / technician has them within reach
• Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size
• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment
• Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace
• Ad hoc Supervisor instructions
• Ad hoc artisan instructions
• Wrapping of Wip parts in inspection and assembly
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
• Matric or Equivalent
• Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment
• Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment
• Ability to follow instructions under supervision
• Rotate between departments on an ad hoc basis
