Assembly Controller

About this role

SPAR is looking for an Assembly Controller to join its team in KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on getting store orders picked accurately and on time, while keeping the assembly area well run and its people performing.

What you’ll do

• Make sure store orders are picked on time and without errors.
• Investigate picking errors and fix the root causes.
• Keep housekeeping standards high and check that risk standards are followed.
• Review productivity reports and act on what they show.
• Lead team meetings and manage staff performance, including the ROI process.
• Take part in disciplinary hearings when needed, and monitor sick leave and absenteeism.
• Manage the GI bin report, keep the end-of-day process on track, and make sure RF equipment is available and well maintained.

What you need

• National Senior Certificate (Matric).
• National Diploma in Logistics Management.
• Similar work experience in warehouse or assembly operations.
• Knowledge of the order picking process and warehouse processes.
• SAP EWM knowledge and good computer skills.
• Knowledge of disciplinary procedures.
• Experience in handling poor performance matters.
• Strong leadership, team management and performance management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work unsupervised and take initiative.
• Supply Chain and Logistics qualification (advantageous).
