Business Management Consultant / Broker Consultant

About this role

FNB, part of the FirstRand Group, is hiring a Business Management Consultant in Cape Town. You will act as the main point of contact for a group of Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), helping them grow their businesses with FNB Life, investment and wider FirstRand products.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with IFAs, and bring more advisers on board over time.
• Promote FNB Life, investment and other FirstRand solutions to your existing IFA portfolio.
• Give advisers product guidance, support and training.
• Find and follow up on business development opportunities that help grow sales.
• Deliver service that goes beyond what advisers expect from you.
• Connect advisers with product specialists when a case is complex.
• Keep up with industry changes, competitor activity and product updates.

What you need

• Matric (Grade 12) and an NQF 5 qualification.
• 3 to 5 years of broker consulting experience in the investments and IFA environment.
• 3 or more years of life assurance experience.
• Knowledge of group risk, individual life and investment products.
• Understanding of the adviser process in the insurance industry.
• Strong sales, negotiation and product presentation skills.
• Good relationship-building and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel locally.
• Advantageous: experience with underwriting engagement and product and quote analysis.
