CIVIC SERVICES CLERK, (41 POSITIONS)

SALARY LEVEL :

A yearly income of between R218 064 and R256 860 as the minimum wage (Level 6).
In addition, one may take use of a wide variety of perks.

SELECTION:

In the process of filling entry-level positions, preference may be given to unemployed youth or graduates, and/or to those who have successfully completed their respective skills development programs.
These candidates must also be able to satisfy the inherent requirements of the post, as well as reside in close proximity to the office where the position is based.

Candidates who have been shortlisted will be required to participate in an interview as well as one or more technical assessments (the purpose of which is to evaluate the Candidates’ level of proven professional and technical proficiency in relation to the tasks of the position).
Candidates who are potentially considered suitable after the interview and technical test(s) will be subjected to a competency assessment (which tests the Candidates’ demonstrated proficiency in the professional dimensions attached to the level of the post);
Employment suitability checks (credit, criminal, citizenship, employment references, and qualification verifications); and a background check.

APPOINTMENT:

Individuals who are appointed will be expected to meet the following requirements:
Engage into an employment contract;
Serve a set probation term; and get a security clearance relevant to the role within the stipulated time frame.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A bachelor’s degree in Public Management, Administration, or Social Sciences from an institution accredited at the NQF level 6, and/or a DHA Home Affairs Services at NQF level 5, all of which are recognized by SAQA as a qualification.

DUTIES:

The following list of particular responsibilities will fall on the individual who is ultimately selected to fill the position:
• Responsible for the processing of applications for Civic Services and the issuance of papers in accordance with processes, as well as providing administrative assistance in the office
• Responsible for responding to inquiries and carrying out online verification
• Greet customers and ensure that they receive a professional, warm, and friendly welcome
• Operate the live capture photo booth in the office
• Verify, validate, and capture client information on system, fingerprints, and scan client supporting documents online
• Examine processed fingerprints and evaluate their validity for entry into the automated fingerprint identification system
• Receive, scan, and file smartcards upon receipt at the office
• Process collections
