Commercial Sale Agent

About this role

Old Mutual is looking for a Commercial Sale Agent to work from its Durban office. The role focuses on growing existing customer accounts and meeting medium-sized sales targets.

What you’ll do

• Build and carry out account plans and sales business plans for existing customers.
• Build working relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at customer organisations, and keep information flowing both ways.
• Gather customer feedback, summarise it, and suggest changes that meet customer needs.
• Guide clients through the financial advice process within a set client segment, so their choices match their goals.
• Sell simple products and services directly to customers, following standard protocols. You may also support the sales team with back-office work.
• Research and analyse data, prepare reports, and give specialist advice on company policies and procedures.
• Know the company’s policies and the regulatory codes that apply. Spot patterns of non-compliance in the team and report them.

What you need

• NQF Level 5 (Higher, Advanced or Occupational Certificate) or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret data.
• Good computer skills, including sales software and database reporting.
• Clear oral communication and professional presentation skills.
• Client management and account planning skills.
• Advantageous: a professional accreditation relevant to the role, which you would be expected to gain or maintain.
