About this role

What you’ll do
- Restock shelves and displays so products sell well, and make sure stock is stored in the right place on time.
- Check that stock is not past its sell-by date, and rotate stock on a regular FIFO basis.
- Report low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, expired stock and price differences to management.
- Help with stock counts, stocktaking, loading and offloading, and flattening boxes after unpacking.
- Keep shelves neat, with the right labels and prices, and follow Dis-Chem’s store layout and planograms.
- Answer customer questions, follow up on out-of-stock requests and help train new staff.
What you need
- Grade 12 (matric).
- Up to 6 months of retail experience. Some retail experience is enough.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office.
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
- Advantageous: at least 1 year of retail experience.
- Advantageous: knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry.
- Advantageous: ability to read ZMORE reports for ordering and stock taking.
- Advantageous: bilingual.
- A strong command of English, a neat appearance, and an honest, reliable and organised way of working.
- Physically fit enough to lift and move heavy boxes safely.
- Reliable transport, or you live close to the store.
- South African citizen with a clear credit record and criminal record.
