About this role
Sappi, a global woodfibre products company, is looking for an MRP Controller at its Ngodwana site. The role keeps rotable spares moving through repair on time, so that plant downtime stays as low as possible.
What you’ll do
- Follow all safety, health, environment and quality rules, and help keep the work area safe.
- Spot hazards early and act straight away to reduce risk.
- Report accidents, injuries and fires immediately to the Stores Supervisor or Safety Representative, and carry out regular Behaviour-Based Safety observations.
- Attend operational and departmental meetings to agree on repair priorities and plant schedules.
- Work with internal teams such as Engineering, Maintenance and Operations, and with external vendors and suppliers.
- Process rotable repairs on SAP, tag each item with the correct colour tag, and agree the repair route with workshop foremen.
- Raise repair requisitions in SAP and follow up with approvers so approvals are not delayed. Keep repair work order statuses in line with the physical stock, including at vendor sites.
- Action scrappings and New Installation Advice on time, manage rotable stock, equipment numbers and master data, and handle customer queries, standby duties and annual stock counts.
What you need
- A relevant NQF Level 6 diploma in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or Engineering.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
- Experience in an engineering or heavy industrial environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems. SAP MM and PM experience is advantageous, for managing MRP, inventory master data and work orders.
- Familiarity with rotable spares, workshop repair processes and inventory control.
