ESAB South Africa, a division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Receptionist to provide an effective frontline service including customer care and ensuring that internal customers are kept in contact with each other as required or requested.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar capacity.
Ensure that all travel arrangements throughout the country for the various areas are taken care of.
Make it a daily practice to carry out the administrative tasks that need to be done.

What are the necessary steps?

Take care of the switchboard duties and route calls in a timely and correct manner to the appropriate parties.
Provide responses to questions and correctly route incoming phone calls to the appropriate parties.
To maintain conformity with the standards, it is necessary to take messages precisely and to check that they were delivered to the appropriate people.
In order to guarantee that the problem is fixed in a timely manner, it is imperative that you communicate any issues with the switchboard or telephone lines to the department of information technology.

Take care of walk-in clients by greeting them, signing them in, and ensuring that their requirements are met in a timely manner.
Control the sign-in register and maintain records for safekeeping and/or referrals in accordance with the policy.
Always be sure you’re following the correct procedures, directions, and quality and safety requirements.
Take care of and make sure that all travel needs and reservations are finalized in accordance with each area (JHB, CT, PE, and DBN).

Take care of the electronic registration for the conference and board rooms.
Take care of the everyday administrative tasks for the General Manager and the Supply Chain as and when they arise.
Control and make purchases for all of the office’s delivery, stock, and supplies.
Take care of the food for all of the gatherings and events.
Take care of the travel records for the ESAB Division.
SOX Compliance: Maintain compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley controls.

What are the necessary items for you to bring?

Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Secretarial Studies, Grade 12, Matric Reception, or Related Fields
at least five years’ worth of experience working in a receptionist role within a technological setting.
2 years admin experience in a sales setting.
Telephone Etiquette
Competent with computers and the Microsoft Office suite
Competence in speech and listening (excellent command of the English language)
arranged, meticulous, and attentive to the smallest of details.
Customer centricity with a strong emphasis on outcomes
