Work Integrated Technical Learner: Diesel Mechanic

About this role

Transnet Port Terminals is offering a work-integrated learning post for a recently qualified diesel mechanic. The programme runs for 24 months and is based in Richards Bay and Cape Town. It gives newly qualified artisans real workplace experience and hands-on mentorship.

What you’ll do

• Apply the theory and trade skills you learned during your apprenticeship in a live working environment.
• Work on industry-specific tasks alongside experienced artisans.
• Learn from a mentor who guides you through your training.
• Build your tool-handling skills and follow safety procedures at every step.
• Move from working with supervision to doing tasks on your own over the course of the programme.
• Build the work record you need to grow your career as an artisan.

What you need

• A Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate.
• Your trade must have been assessed within the past 4 years.
• You must be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Less than 1 year of work experience.
• South African citizenship.
