An overview of the Program and Available Positions:

AQUITY Innovations NPC has been selected to participate in the fight against tuberculosis as one of the GLOBAL FUND TB Sub-Recipients (SRs) in South Africa.
This selection was made by the National Department of Health.
While the positions for the head office will be located in Pretoria, the project activities themselves will be carried out in the provinces of Mpumalanga (in the Ehlanzeni district) and Eastern Cape (in the Buffalo City Metro, Amathole, and OR Tambo District).

As a result, we are looking to fill positions for Data Capturers (*9) in the Amathole District, specifically within the Mbhashe Sub District, the Mnquma Sub District, the Amahlathi Sub District, and the Raymond Mhlaba Subdistrict.

Data Capturer Responsibilities

Maintaining the TB/HIV module on TIER.net and the DR TB on EDRweb is the responsibility of the person in this position.
This includes entering information that is new, accurate, and updated for TB patients, as well as compiling information and preparing reports for submission and presentation to the organization, health facilities, district, and National Department of Health (NDoH).

Ensure that the electronic data that is captured each day in the government databases is accurate and that it is consolidated for the appropriate service points.
Make sure that the quality and accuracy of all the data that has been captured and entered has been checked.
Perform data validation to check that it is accurate, comprehensive, and consistent.
Prepare statistical reports on the tuberculosis data on a regular basis.

Keep all relevant TB and HIV registers up to date and maintain them.
Record the clinical data that is being received on patients who have been identified by the mobile and outreach teams.
Make sure that the Department of Health’s standard operating procedures are followed for the collection of all the data.
Make sure that the relevant manager or managers receive the data within the timeframes that have been established.

Take part in the management of the quality of the data by carrying out the necessary data verifications, as well as quality assurance and control procedures.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting templates with accuracy, and submit those templates in a timely manner.
Facilities to support addressing new data management challenges as they arise.
Carry out all of the necessary administrative tasks that are connected to the data capture.
Maintain communication with the staff of the facility regarding the recording and reporting of TB data.

Maintain close communication with the TB focal person or persons as well as the facility manager.
Participate in the appropriate trainings and meetings as they become available.
Reporting The Data Capturer is responsible for reporting directly to the assigned supervisor in the facility.
This supervisor is the one who will oversee day-to-day operations and approve timesheets.
Additionally, you are required to report your findings to the M&E officer of AQUITY Innovation, in accordance with the policies, procedures, and demands of the Global Fund.

Data Capturer Qualification

Candidates are required to have a Matriculation certificate.
A fundamental understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel on a computer.
An education that continues on after matriculation will be an asset.

Data Capturer Experience

A minimum of two years’ worth of work experience in the fields of data collecting, capturing, management, and/or analysis is required.
A fundamental understanding of tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS is required.
Experience working with Department of Health data and/or management and evaluation systems (capturing data from patient records to DHIS level) for a minimum of two years is required for this position.

Prior experience using Tier.Net and/or EDR-Web is highly desirable and will be considered an asset.
Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
Interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to work well with others are all essential.
You need to be a native speaker of at least one local indigenous South African language in addition to being a citizen of South Africa.
