LOCATIONS :

  • The Sizwe Tropical Disease Hospital

REQUIREMENTS:

Abet level 4 or Grade 10 along with 1-2 years of relevant experience and understanding of suitable food preparation and foodservice unit practices.
It would be beneficial to have experience in large-scale catering or food preparation, such as that found in hospitals and hotels;
A food and beverage certificate; and exposure to the setting of a hospital.
Should have no problem working rotating shifts and weekends as well as holidays.
You must be willing to work under pressure and as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the patients’ food preparation, including meals, snacks, food packs (supply), and drinks.
In wards, you are responsible for distributing meals to patients and feeding them.
In accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, implement hygiene and safety measures in all work areas.
In charge of maintaining a clean environment throughout the Foodservice unit, ward kitchen, and equipment.
Please report any losses and waste.
Be ready to fill in as a relief worker in any of the shifts throughout the Foodservice and wards as necessary.
