What you’ll do

  • Inspect power lines and the servitudes (the cleared strips of land under and around them).
  • Maintain servitudes and repair defects in line hardware.
  • Investigate faults on power lines and work out what has gone wrong.
  • Help with restoring supply during emergencies.
  • Follow the Zero Harm safety principle at all times.
  • Build good working relationships with customers and other stakeholders.

What you need

  • A Trade Certificate in Electrical.
  • At least two years of technical experience.

Is this job for you?

This job suits a qualified electrical artisan who enjoys outdoor, hands-on work on high-voltage lines. You should be comfortable working on fault repairs and emergency call-outs, and you should take safety seriously.

Tips before you apply

  • Have your Trade Certificate in Electrical and any proof of trade testing ready as certified copies or clear scans.
  • Put your two years of technical experience at the top of your CV. List the lines, servitude or fault work you have done, with dates and employers.
