Senior Manager Procurement (Governance Enablement CoE)

About this role

Eskom, South Africa’s state-owned electricity utility, is hiring a Senior Manager Procurement for its Corporate Procurement business unit in Sunninghill, Gauteng. The role sits in the Governance Enablement Centre of Excellence and leads procurement and contracting for equipment and services across tactical, strategic and project work.

What you’ll do

• Set the strategic direction for Procurement and Supply Chain Management so the division meets its objectives.
• Lead and oversee demand management and optimisation for P&SCM in the division.
• Direct sourcing strategies for acquisition and procurement, covering strategic, project and tactical sourcing.
• Drive improvements in logistics, disposal and supply chain management.
• Oversee governance and compliance processes within the function.
• Manage resources for the P&SCM function.

What you need

• An Honours Degree in Commerce, Law or Engineering at NQF 8 with 480 credits.
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS).
• At least 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain.
• Expert experience in procurement and supply chain.
• Expert experience in contract management. Experience in an energy utility or similar environment is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and leadership skills, including coaching and people development.
• Good knowledge of procurement legislation, risk management and total cost of ownership.
