Assistant Store Manager

About this role

Mr Price Group is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for its store at Middelburg Mall in Mpumalanga. You will support the store manager to run the store day to day and to hit store targets and customer service standards.

What you’ll do

• Receive and unpack stock accurately, and keep the sales floor stocked.
• Track stock levels, manage stock loss risks and keep enough stock on hand.
• Keep the stockroom clean and well organised to housekeeping standards.
• Approve write-offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Review sales and profit reports, work with management on action plans and keep an eye on store spending.
• Track how products perform in store, share feedback with the support centre and suggest ways to grow sales and brand awareness.
• Run compliance checks and make sure the store follows company policies and procedures.
• Lead the team towards store KPIs, coach staff, plan their training and development, and help with recruitment and performance management.

What you need

• Grade 12.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant store management role.
• Understanding of sales and service management.
• Budgeting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understanding of the retail trade.
• Understanding of brand, customer and product.
