Assistant Store Manager

About this role

Mr Price Group is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for its store at Secunda Square in Govan Mbeki, Mpumalanga. You will help the store manager run the store day to day, so that sales targets and customer service standards are met.

What you’ll do

• Receive and unpack stock, then restock the sales floor.
• Track stock levels and act on processes that reduce stock loss.
• Keep the stockroom tidy and up to housekeeping standards.
• Approve write-offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Review sales and profit reports, and work with management on action plans to lift sales and control store spending.
• Follow in-store product performance and give feedback to the support centre. Suggest new ways to grow sales and brand awareness.
• Run compliance checks and make sure the store follows company policies and procedures.
• Lead the team towards store KPIs, identify training and coaching needs, and recruit and manage staff performance.

What you need

• Grade 12.
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant store management role.
• Understanding of sales and service management.
• Budgeting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of the retail trade.
• Understanding of brand, customer and product.
