Automotive Workshop Repair Assistant

About this role

Ellahi Consulting is looking for a Repair Shop Assistant for its automotive workshop in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. This is a fixed-term post that supports the technicians and workshop management in keeping the repair shop safe, tidy and running well.

What you’ll do

• Help technicians get vehicles ready for repair work.
• Keep the workshop clean, orderly and safe.
• Move customer vehicles around the workshop and look after them while they are on site.
• Hand out, check and look after tools and equipment.
• Give general support to the workshop team as needed.
• Follow workshop procedures and safety rules every day.

What you need

• Grade 12 / matric certificate (preferred).
• A valid, unendorsed driver’s licence (preferred).
• Previous experience in an automotive workshop or repair environment.
• Experience helping technicians or doing general workshop duties.
• 5 years of working experience in an RMI workshop for passenger vehicles.
• Basic knowledge of motor vehicles and workshop operations.
• Basic understanding of automotive tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and workshop procedures.
• Basic communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer literacy (advantageous).
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work safely, efficiently and as part of a team.
