Barista / Waiter

About this role

Faircape Restaurant and Catering runs dining services across six sites in the Western Cape, including the restaurant at Noordhoek Manor in Noordhoek, Cape Town. This full-time role covers both coffee service and waiting, for village residents, patients and guests.

What you’ll do

• Make and serve quality coffee drinks, look after the coffee equipment and suggest drinks to residents.
• Serve food and drinks to the required standard, with a calm and polite manner.
• Know the full menu well enough to explain dishes and answer guests’ questions.
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally, and help the team keep service smooth.
• Set tables, change linen when needed and keep cruet and condiment sets clean and full.
• Bill orders accurately, help with stock counts and report shortages, breakages or errors to management.

What you need

• Proven experience as a waiter.
• Strong barista experience (essential).
• Knowledge of serving etiquette.
• Basic wine knowledge (advantageous).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A neat, well-groomed and professional appearance.
• A clear health record, criminal record and credit record.
• Contactable references, including written references.
• Willingness to work shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, including weekends, public holidays and private functions.
