Cashier

About this role

Clicks Group is looking for cashiers to join the front shop team at Unicare in Parklands, Cape Town. The role sits in the 24-hour pharmacy and focuses on smooth, friendly service at the till.

What you’ll do

• Process sales quickly and accurately at the point of sale.
• Scan merchandise correctly and take payment, including applying Clubcard rewards.
• Handle cash safely at all times and follow the cash-up procedures.
• Let customers know about current promotions to help grow sales.
• Greet customers warmly and act as a friendly, professional face of the brand.
• Keep up to date with products, ranges, promotions and events so you can answer customer questions correctly.

What you need

• Essential: Grade 12.
• Advantageous: Maths and English at 50% or higher.
• Advantageous: Experience in a customer-facing role in a retail or FMCG store.
• Basic maths calculations and good numeracy skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Good communication skills and a strong focus on the customer.
• Knowledge of good customer service.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures, and to stay calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts between 7am and 11pm daily, according to a roster.
