Cashier Description of the Position
The Secunda location of Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking to hire an experienced Cashier.
Assist with customer service at the point of sale while ensuring that customers have an exceptional shopping experience.
Record all customer transactions using the Dis-Chem operating system in accordance with the company’s policies and SOPs, with zero tolerance for inaccuracy and the elimination of any potential for fraud.
CASHIER QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED :
Grade 12 / Matric
A minimum of six months of experience as a cashier or cash register operator.
familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office
Competence in the application of numbers
Competence with the English language.
Fundamental customer service skills and the availability to work during normal business hours
CASHIER DUTIES:
Develop a professional and respectful rapport with your clients.
Bring customer compliments and complaints to the attention of the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
Maintain the hourly wage based on the number of clients served.
Be informed of the current offers and discounts that are available.
Ensure that neither your coworkers nor your customers are endangered.
Communicate and manage according to the Dis-Chem 5 star principles
Accept responsibility for the cash flow
Ensure that the supervisor has approved and signed off on any line voids or price adjustments prior to their implementation.
Customers can exchange their merchandise, and returned items are accepted if permission has been granted.
Perform all transactions, including payment receipt and processing (in the form of cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and any other forms of payment accepted by Dis-Chem).
Consider all customer loyalty cards, including those of our accelerator partners (Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards and eBucks)
Ensure that cash is stored in accordance with Dis-standard Chem’s operating procedures in the drop safe (SOPs). Ensure that only you can use your code and password, that they are secure, and that they are frequently changed.
Ensure that every item, piece of inventory, and script being shipped has been scanned and paid for.
Also, ensure that the cash register is always kept in a secure location.
Consider daily receipts to be confidential information and only share them with management.
Maintain vigilance, possess the ability to recognize suspicious behavior, and report it to management.
Respond to inquiries regarding the merchandise for sale in the store.
Follow the security protocols and guidelines established by Dis-Chem.
Cashier Competencies:
