Full job description

The Driver will be responsible for operating the organisation’s vehicles for deliveries and collections daily to facilitate normal activities of the organisation

Driving:

• Collect goods from different Centres, Head Office, Makro and any other sites
• Collecting and delivering items as instructed by the procurement officer/line manager
• Drive staff members and beneficiaries to where they need to go
• Adhere to policies and procedure to attain department objectives
• May have to work weekends when needed

Maintenance:

• Ensure the vehicle is in good working order before trips and report problems to the line manager or procurement manager
• Ensure the car is kept clean and tidy at all times

Qualifications and Experience:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Drivers licence
• Public Driver’s Permitt (PDP)
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Required Skills:

• Good driving record
• Efficiency and time management
• Detail orientated
• Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws

Behavioural Competencies:

• Be able to adhere to road signs and regulations
• Competent, honest and friendly
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances where required
