Festive Flexi Shop Assistant / Cashier

About this role

Clicks Group is looking for two shop assistants who can also work as cashiers at its store in Ceres, Western Cape. You will report to the Store Manager. The role is a good first step into retail.

What you’ll do

• Serve customers at the till. Scan items accurately, take payment and process Clubcard rewards.
• Handle cash safely at all times.
• Tell customers about the Clubcard and sign up new members.
• Share current promotions so customers know about special prices and offers.
• Keep the shop floor tidy and stocked, and follow the store’s merchandising standards.
• Learn the products and ranges well, and pass on what you know to relief staff.

What you need

• Grade 12 (essential).
• Basic maths and good numeracy skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused manner.
• Planning, organising and problem-solving skills.
• Some understanding of stock management and how merchandising and promotions work. Retail or FMCG experience is an advantage.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures, and to work well under pressure.
