Job Advert Summary
The Thaba Joint Venture (JV), which is a JV between Sylvania Metals and Limberg Mining Company, is looking for a Fitter to support the operations concerning maintenance, improving plant availability, and controlling costs.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum N3 certificate / Grade 12.
- Certified Trade Test Certificate – Fitting (Section 13 or 26D).
- Minimum 5 years of related industry experience.
- Experience in the operation of crushers, conveyors, and flotation cells.
- PGM Flotation and Chrome Recovery Plant experience will be advantageous.
- Must have experience in the maintenance of slurry pumps, Grinding Mills, and gearboxes.
- Code 8 driver’s license and own transport.
- Prepared to be on standby and work overtime as and when required.
- Must reside in the local area or be prepared to relocate to the Western operations.
- All appointments will be dependent on passing a compulsory mine medical fitness certificate and an independent trade competency assessment.
Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all process equipment.
- Planning and scheduling preventative and planned maintenance.
- Ensuring adherence to the company’s Health and Safety Standards.
- Capturing breakdown data and updating equipment history records.
