General Assistant - Drive Thru Yard Department

About this role

Brights Hardware in Langebaan, Western Cape, is looking for a General Assistant for its Drive Thru Yard. The role helps keep customers and delivery drivers happy by making sure orders are loaded correctly and the yard runs smoothly.

What you’ll do

• Load customers’ vehicles, delivery trucks and transfer trucks quickly and accurately.
• Stack and count stock so that it is neat and correct.
• Help pull stock for transfers.
• Report stock shortages and breakages to your supervisor.
• Sweep and clean the yard and keep the work area tidy.
• Help customers with friendly service and basic product knowledge, and take part in perpetual stocktakes.

What you need

• Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role (advantageous).
• Good verbal communication skills.
• The ability to count stock accurately.
• Good customer service skills.
• The ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
• A disciplined, motivated attitude and the ability to cope under pressure.
• Physical fitness and stamina for lifting and manual work, including bagging stone and sand.
