1. LEARNER FIRE FIGHTER

DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC SAFETY SERVICES
The T6 salary scale ranges from R152 533.56 per year to R197 995.08 per year.

The following is a list of the duties that will be expected of you:

• Performs a variety of tasks associated with responding to and dealing with emergency firefighting situations.
• Maintaining fire station facilities under supervision, in addition to other related work as needed in order to :
• In accordance with the Fire Brigade Services Act (Act 99 of 1987), it is our duty to safeguard the citizens of Saldanha Bay Municipality, both in terms of their lives and their belongings.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• No experience required
• Code B driver’s license Advantageous
• No criminal record
• Must be mentally and physically fit.
• Must pass the NFPA 1582 medical exam.
• Must pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
• Applicants who have already earned their Firefighter 1 certification will be given priority.

2. RESERVIST FIRE FIGHTER

Salary scale: R100 000 p.a. all inclusive

Regulatory and technical fire safety inspection Performing command and control management functions as the Fire prevention Officer Assuming full supervisory responsibility for the operations and maintenance of the fire station in order to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient emergency services

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• No experience required
• Code B driver’s license advantageous
•No record of criminal activity
•Must be in good physical and mental health
•Must pass the NFPA 1582 medical exam
•Must pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
