Health Merchandiser

About this role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Health Merchandiser for its store at Thavhani Mall in Thohoyandou, Limpopo. The job makes sure the store’s basic merchandising standards are followed and kept up every day. You will also help customers with friendly, good service.

What you’ll do

• Restock products and put delivered stock or stock from the store room in the right place.
• Keep the full range of products on the shelves at all times.
• Rotate stock regularly on a first in, first out basis.
• Keep front shop shelves tidy, with correct labels and pricing, and help with stocktaking and back shopping.
• Build, face up and stock merchandising displays, and keep them in good shape each day.
• Look after your designated stock in the store room and on the shop floor, and deal with customer stock queries until they are resolved.

What you need

• Grade 12 / matric (essential).
• Up to 6 months of retail experience (essential). At least 1 year of retail experience is advantageous.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office (essential).
• Willingness and ability to work retail hours (essential).
• Strong command of English, a presentable appearance, and good engagement with customers, management and staff (essential).
• Trustworthy, honest and good at managing your time (essential).
• Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy boxes while following health and safety rules (essential).
• Reliable transport, or living close to the store (essential).
• South African citizen with a clear credit record and clear criminal record (essential).
• A diploma or degree in the health focus category is advantageous.
• Bilingual skills are advantageous.
• Knowledge of merchandising standards, the FMCG industry, and product or category knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to analyse ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP or Unisolv is advantageous.

This job suits someone who has matric and some retail experience, and who likes keeping shelves neat and helping customers. You should be happy to work retail hours and to be on your feet, lifting boxes. Honesty and reliability matter a lot in this role.
