About this role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Merchandiser for its store at Northridge Mall in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will keep the shop floor and storeroom in line with Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards and help customers while you work.
What you’ll do
- Restock shelves and displays so products sell well, and keep the full range on the shelves.
- Store and pack stock in the right place, and rotate it first in, first out.
- Check shelves for expired or near-expiry stock, and report low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged stock and price problems to management.
- Help with stock counts, stocktaking, loading and off-loading, and back shopping.
- Keep the shop front neat, with correct labels and pricing, and follow Dis-Chem’s store layout and planograms.
- Help customers, follow up on out-of-stock queries, and help train new staff.
What you need
- Grade 12 / matric.
- Up to 6 months of retail experience (essential).
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
- Strong command of English and a presentable, professional appearance.
- Good time management and honesty.
- Able to lift and move heavy boxes safely.
- Reliable transport, or living close to the store.
- South African citizen, with clear credit and criminal records.
- Advantageous: at least 1 year of retail experience.
- Advantageous: bilingual, knowledge of merchandising standards or the FMCG industry, and product knowledge.
- Advantageous: ability to read ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking.
