Job Advert Summary
Join Macsteel for a 12-month intensive internship within our shipping department. In this position the successful candidate will assist the shipping department with their administrative tasks as well as learning about imports, exports and logistics.
Minimum Requirements

- Must have a National Diploma or Degree in the above mentioned programme
- Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and speak) – Essential.
- Age 20 – 28
- Availability and commitment to complete a full year (12 months) of training – practical time.
- Intake is merit based and candidates who do not meet the stipulated criteria will not be considered.
- Interns will receive a monthly Stipend from the company and will be placed in the company (for the duration of the Internship) in order to apply the practical learning component.
- Candidates are requested to send their updated CV’s with the following attached:
- ID
- Diploma \ Degree certificate
- Proof of banking details (letter from the bank)
- Proof and tax registration (SARS letter)

Duties and Responsibilities
As part of your internship, you will receive exposure to the following areas:
- General administrative functions in the shipping department
- Assist with receiving and reviewing sales orders for clients
- Assist with preparing and processing documentation for customers
- Ensuring delivery notes match with export documentation
- Updating and maintain transport rate registers
- Assisting with tracking of shipments
- Reviewing sales orders against delivery notes and issuing of credit notes
