IT Audit Manager

About this role

Capitec is hiring an IT Audit Manager for its Internal Audit team in Stellenbosch. The role covers technology and data risk across a fast-growing banking environment, where systems and security threats are becoming more complex.

What you’ll do

• Plan and lead full IT internal audits, with a strong focus on cloud environments and security controls.
• Spot technology and data risks, then turn your findings into clear, practical recommendations.
• Work with senior people in technology and data teams so that audit results lead to real improvements.
• Keep up with new technology risks and use that knowledge when you plan audits.
• Prepare audit reports that are sharp, balanced and easy for managers to act on.
• Track agreed audit actions until they are fully implemented.
• Explain complex technical findings in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.

What you need

• At least 5 years of IT or technology audit experience.
• At least 2 years of managerial experience in a banking environment, leading a team of 5 or more people.
• Strong, proven expertise in cybersecurity, complex SDLC processes and cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of IT systems and processes such as AWS, SDLC and cybersecurity.
• A sound understanding of IT risk frameworks, governance and control environments.
• Experience leading full audit cycles on your own, from planning through to reporting.
• A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CISA (advantageous).
• A self-directed work style, with ownership of your work until it is finished.
