IT Portfolio Manager (Supply Chain and Logistics)

About this role

Mr Price Group is looking for an IT Portfolio Manager for its technology team in Durban. The role owns the technology roadmap for supply chain and logistics and keeps the platforms that help the business trade running well.

What you’ll do

• Turn the IT strategy into practical solutions and clear technology roadmaps that deliver business value.
• Lead technology projects, initiatives and enhancements, working closely with trading and non-trading business teams.
• Keep platforms, applications and systems scalable, reliable and in line with business growth.
• Set up sound processes, controls and governance that reduce operational and technology risk, and make sure audit, risk and security findings are fixed.
• Lead, coach and develop your support team, set priorities and plan resources, succession and recruitment.
• Manage portfolio vendors and partners, making sure they meet agreed service levels and contract terms.
• Drive root cause analysis and improvements to boost product stability and cut repeat issues.

What you need

• 5 to 10 years’ experience managing a project team or a development team.
• Experience building or developing products that deliver business value.
• Understanding of supply chain and logistics in a retail environment (advantageous).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.
• Effective negotiation and vendor management skills.
• A proactive problem solver who thinks creatively.
• Attention to detail.
