IT Technician (Junior)

About this role

Raubex is looking for a junior IT Technician to work with the Senior IT Technician. The role is based in Wadeville, Germiston, with travel when needed. You will help keep staff equipment, systems and data secure and running well.

What you’ll do

• Give day-to-day help to staff on Microsoft Office 365, devices and mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot and upgrade hardware and software, and set up new devices.
• Support users on-site and remotely, and escalate harder problems to other teams.
• Install and fix network hardware, and trace, label and document existing infrastructure.
• Work with Raubex and IPT teams on network and system matters, and spot problems before they happen.
• Handle stock takes, track equipment, and help with quotes and buying IT equipment.
• Log and update tickets on the Raubex Halo helpdesk.

What you need

• South African citizenship.
• Grade 12 (compulsory).
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an IT support role or similar technical position.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows 11.
• Practical experience with desktop and laptop hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Clear written and spoken communication, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• A methodical, logical way of working.
• A valid driver’s licence, or be in the process of getting one.
• Advantageous: a relevant IT qualification.
