About this role

FirstRand (FNB) is recruiting a Lend Deal Maker for its WesBank Fleet Management and Leasing team in Bellville, Western Cape. The job is to find, win and manage new fleet and leasing clients, so the business can grow its profit, market share and position against competitors.

What you’ll do

  • Find and sign new fleet management and leasing clients in target sectors. Your focus is commercial vehicles, including trucks, passenger cars and light delivery vehicles.
  • Study each client’s operations, how they use their vehicles and their cost concerns. Then propose a leasing or fleet solution that fits.
  • Meet monthly and annual targets for new business and non-interest income. This includes add-on services such as maintenance, telematics and fuel management.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, such as credit, operations, FNB and RMB bankers, and product teams. Also build them with external clients, so partnerships last.
  • Keep up with market trends and competitor moves in fleet leasing and mobility. Use what you learn to sharpen your sales approach.
  • Keep every deal within internal governance, risk rules and regulatory requirements. Track your pipeline in a CRM and report on sales, client activity and market feedback.

What you need

  • Minimum: Higher National Diploma in Marketing, Sales, or Business.
  • Advantageous: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing or a related field.
  • Five to ten years of new business sales experience. Fleet services, leasing or financial services experience is preferred.
  • A proven record of developing new business and winning new clients.
  • Strong financial literacy. You should be able to read financial data, understand budgeting and cost analysis, forecast, and judge profitability.
  • Skill in negotiating and closing high-value deals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms and Microsoft Office.

Is this job for you?

This role suits a driven, commercially minded sales professional with a solid track record in new business. You should enjoy building relationships, working on your own and also being part of a team. You should also be comfortable with numbers and ready to handle pressure in a fast-changing market.

Tips before you apply

  • Have your diploma or degree certificates and a current CV ready. Include a short list of references you can contact.
  • Show your sales results with figures. Include the value of deals you closed, targets you met and new clients you brought in.
  • Give examples of fleet, leasing or financial services work. Explain how you analysed a client’s costs and shaped a solution.
