Local Receiving Manager

About this role

Pick n Pay is looking for a Local Receiving Manager based in Atlantis, Western Cape. You will run the receiving side of a store, making sure deliveries come in correctly and returns go back out to vendors on time.

What you’ll do

• Receive all store deliveries and send returned goods to vendors, following company policies and procedures.
• Check the quality of incoming goods and keep the cold chain intact.
• Cut losses by reducing shrinkage and damage at the receiving doors.
• Handle the disposal of stock according to company policy.
• Control entry for visitors and merchandisers, and help manage security at the back door.
• Keep hygiene, housekeeping and safety standards up to scratch, and run equipment as set out in company standards.
• Complete receiving paperwork and admin, and communicate clearly with staff, management, customers and suppliers.

What you need

• Matric / Grade 12 / NQF 4.
• 1-2 years of experience as a receiving supervisor.
• Good communication skills.
• A customer-focused approach and sound business sense.
• Willingness to work long or flexible hours.
• Ability to do physically demanding work.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather, as goods are received in open areas.
