Logistics Manager (Customer Service, Exports & Warehousing)

About this role

Hire Resolve is recruiting on behalf of a mining company in Gauteng. The Logistics Manager will lead customer service and logistics operations, keep customers happy and keep orders moving through the business.

What you’ll do

• Lead a team of customer service and logistics specialists and oversee their daily work.
• Track team performance against company policies, service level agreements and key performance indicators.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Supply and other teams so service levels stay on target.
• Make sure customer orders, samples and requests are captured in the ERP system on time.
• Handle customer complaints and escalations, and drive corrective action and follow-up.
• Watch customer demand against stock levels, arrange replenishment and flag possible supply problems early.
• Manage shipping lines, freight forwarders and other third-party logistics providers, including checking their monthly billing.
• Push for process standardisation and continuous improvement, while coaching and mentoring your team.

What you need

• Grade 12.
• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in a managerial role within a mining or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Extensive supply chain management experience in an international environment.
• Strong strategic planning and supply chain leadership experience.
• Strong experience in export operations and warehousing.
• Experience using SAP.
• Extensive knowledge of customer service and logistics procedures.
• A valid driver’s licence.
