Mine Overseer Production Services

About this role

Sasol is looking for a Mine Overseer to work at the Syferfontein Mine near Secunda in Mpumalanga. The role supervises shift and plant operations, with a strong focus on hitting performance targets safely and within company policy.

What you’ll do

• Supervise all shift and plant operations, making sure targets are met without cutting corners on safety.
• Check daily and shift inspections, including equipment checks, and keep the work area clean and hazard-free.
• Track work quality, quantities and deadlines, and keep costs and budgets under control.
• Support the driller in the control room, update the driller and geology maps, and step in to take over drilling duties when needed.
• Oversee site work such as rod handling, cement and bentonite mixing, site establishment, rehabilitation and spares ordering.
• Write shift reports and month-end reports, and hand over work cleanly to the next shift.

What you need

• National Senior Certificate or N3, with Mathematics and Science.
• A university degree or B Tech qualification.
• Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency (MOCC).
• Blasting Certificate for Fiery Mines.
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong skills in equipment efficiency, troubleshooting, risk management and SHE policies and procedures.
• Ability to manage others, make sound decisions and solve problems quickly.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on accountability and self-development.
