• Safe blasting of underground excavations
• Development of waste and reef footprint
• Ensuring a consistent mining cycle for blasting cleaning and support of working areas
• Enforcement of mine standards and procedures, ensuring that the workplaces are safe
• Mining operation (production) – Conduct daily entry examinations, risk assessments, marking off support
• Identify the reef band and mark the face as per geological reports, and charge up the face
• Plan and coordinate mine activities in line with targets and objectives and stick to a workable productive mining cycle
• Personal Management and Crew control – Supervision of team and management of performance
• Communication of mining plans and allocation of responsibilities to the crew
