Job Description
Hire Resolve’s client, a leading manufacturer specializing in high-quality plastic components, is currently seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to join their team in Cape Town. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and enhance quality control processes within a dynamic production environment.
Responsibilities
Quality Control Planning
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain quality control records, including test results, inspection reports, and corrective measures.
Quality Control Inspection
- Apply company quality principles and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Conduct regular inspections of production processes, products, and materials.
- Perform testing and evaluation of products to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
- Identify and document non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Capture, analyze, and communicate data for statistical control and trending.
- Verify critical dimensions in tooling and industrialization processes.
- Conduct appropriate measurement techniques for tolerance, sampling, and quality standards.
- Qualify measuring equipment.
Personnel Management
- Lead, train, and motivate subordinates.
- Manage employees’ attendance, disciplinary actions, policies, and scheduling.
- Ensure packers and operators record and report issues promptly.
- Monitor production output and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of responsibility and team development.
- Implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Train and mentor staff in industrialized measuring techniques and metrology processes.
Customer Service
- Address customer inquiries and complaints related to product quality.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams to resolve product quality issues.
Reporting and Administration
- Conduct daily shift handovers.
- Perform daily audits on quality inspections and housekeeping.
Health and Safety
- Enforce adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in designated areas.
- Report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses.
Food Safety System Certification (FSSC)
- Ensure compliance with site-specific food safety principles and GMPs.
- Report any food safety hazards.
Self-Development and Growth
- Assess personal strengths and development areas, implementing improvement actions.
- Stay updated with industry standards and regulatory changes.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure the team has clear guidance in your absence.
- Lead by example and uphold company standards.
- Perform additional tasks as required by management.
Requirements
- Education: Matric (Grade 12), NQF 4 Supervisory Management Qualification, and Certificate in Quality Control.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in the manufacturing industry.
- Skills: Strong knowledge and experience in metrology, quality control principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Other: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
