Security Systems Assistant Technician

About this role

Impala Platinum (Implats) is hiring a Security Systems Assistant Technician based in Springs. The job supports the company’s refineries by keeping security systems installed, working and protected.

What you’ll do

• Help install and maintain CCTV, alarm and networking equipment.
• Help set up and configure cameras, alarms and network equipment.
• Carry out daily checks to make sure security systems are working well.
• Build good working relationships with technicians inside Implats and at other organisations, sharing news on new technology in the industry.
• Help plan preventative maintenance based on reported faults and requests.
• Help manage maintenance stock and consumables.
• Help download and upload relevant software.

What you need

• Grade 12 (essential).
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ relevant experience in CCTV, alarms and surveillance networks.
• Knowledge of installation, fault diagnostics and configuration of CCTV, alarm and surveillance networks.
• Basic knowledge of electricity.
• Basic knowledge of Indigo Vision systems.
• Good communication skills and basic computer skills.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Medically fit for both plants (PMR and BMR).
