Senior Electrical Draughtsperson

RPO Recruitment, a specialist recruitment agency, is placing an experienced Senior Electrical Draughtsperson with one of its clients in Johannesburg. This is a 12-month contract for one person. The role centres on producing technical drawings and supporting the technical team on building-related engineering projects.

What you’ll do

• Produce and update technical drawings for electrical, mechanical, building structure and stormwater drainage work.
• Visit sites, take measurements and assess conditions so you have the information you need for each drawing.
• Prepare site drawings and measurements for architectural work.
• Help compile scopes of work and point out the technical requirements for each project.
• Draw up additional mechanical and electrical drawings to support the technical team.
• Update drawings when design changes come in, and keep drawing revisions accurate and up to date.
• Spot missing information or technical clashes, and flag them to the right project people.

What you need

• A relevant qualification in Electrical Draughting, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in technical drawing and design.
• A proven record of producing technical engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in MicroStation (mandatory).
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, building structure and stormwater drainage drawings.
• Experience with site measurements, site visits and assessments.
• The ability to read technical information, drawings, specifications and design instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate drawings.
• Good communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• The ability to work on your own and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
