Senior Technical Assistant: Water Services Development Planning

About this role

The City of Ekurhuleni is looking for a Senior Technical Assistant for its engineering department, based in Gauteng. The post supports water services development planning. You will give technical and field support to the engineering team within your area of accountability.

What you’ll do

• Help carry out engineering activities for the department, including the upkeep of technical systems and technology.
• Keep to all safety standards that apply to the work and its processes.
• Take part in the specialist practice community and share knowledge that helps the organisation learn.
• Manage costs for new and upgraded connections and network reticulation, so service levels are met.
• Pass unresolved delivery and quality problems up to operational managers and process owners.
• Stay current with the laws and rules that affect engineering work.
• Apply Batho Pele principles and help keep a strong culture of service excellence.

What you need

• Grade 12.
• A Diploma in Civil Engineering (NQF 6).
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a relevant environment.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Be ready to show proof of your NQF level if asked.
