Station Manager: Operational

About this role

The City of Ekurhuleni is hiring a Station Manager for its operational division in Gauteng. You will lead day-to-day operations and technical maintenance, and you will help keep services safe and well run for the community.

What you’ll do

• Manage, supervise and control the operational and technical maintenance work of the division.
• Make sure operational processes follow legislation, policies and procedures.
• Apply governance, risk management and financial rules as set out in law and city policy.
• Build a customer service culture and protect people’s lives and property in every task.
• Deliver on service level agreements that follow the Batho Pele Principles.
• Review your own performance and keep professional, ethical dealings with stakeholders and colleagues.

What you need

• Grade 12 or NQF level 4.
• One of the following fire technology qualifications: SAESI Diploma in Fire Technology, IFE Level 3 Certificate, or completed 2nd year of a National Diploma in Fire Technology, or an equivalent services-related qualification.
• Seven years of experience in a similar environment.
• SHE Manager training (safety, health and environment).
• Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office programmes.
• A valid Eastern Cape (EC) driver’s licence with a PrDP.
• Operator certificates for pumps, aerial devices, cranes, TLBs and forklifts.
