Step Into a Role That Makes an Impact! We’re seeking a STOCK AND COST CENTRE ACCOUNTANT, 12 month contract to drive success at I&J Head Office in Woodstock, Cape Town. This role is designed to take responsibility for the accurate management, accounting and control of stock and cost centre information, supporting robust financial reporting and business performance.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to: Commercial Finance Manager
Key Areas of Impact:
- Manage stock accounting, controls and reconciliations, ensuring accurate stock records and valuation.
- Perform monthly stock reviews, including ageing, shelf life, write offs, co packing and Goods in Transit.
- Complete month end accounting, including cost centre reviews, accruals, journals, GL reconciliations and stock reporting.
- Support budgeting and forecasting, including overhead costs and stock planning.
- Maintain accurate Material Master Data and ensure appropriate financial controls are in place.
- Monitor and strengthen stock and financial controls across business units and storage locations.
- Prepare accurate financial and management reports and investigate variances or discrepancies.
- Support year end processes and external audits, providing accurate information and supporting documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to SAP and other relevant financial systems.
- Partner with cost centre managers and key stakeholders to ensure financial accountability and accurate reporting.
What It Takes to Succeed:
Experience that set you up for success:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an FMCG working environment – advantageous
Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:
- Completed Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Additional Requirements that will enhance your impact for success:
- Strong SAP ERP experience.
- MS Office and Excel experience.
- Comfortable with working directly on the factory floor and attending inventory counts.
