Store Manager

About this role

Ares Holdings is hiring a Store Manager for the Hey Dude store in Kuilriver, Western Cape. Hey Dude is an international footwear brand. The manager will lead sales, the store team, stock and the in-store customer experience.

What you’ll do

• Lead merchandising and sales in line with the brand’s purpose, vision and values.
• Set daily sales targets for the whole team, including casual staff, and share results with everyone during the day.
• Recruit, lead and motivate the store team, and run daily team meetings and rosters.
• Arrange training for the team in areas such as customer service, loss prevention, podiatry and sales.
• Manage stock levels, deliveries, stock counts and inventory reports, and keep stock records accurate on the POS system.
• Build links with local podiatrists, running clubs and gyms, and grow the rewards programme customer database.
• Keep the store clean, well merchandised and compliant with health and safety policy, and handle month-end and cash-up reports.

What you need

• Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Working experience in retail.
• Proven sales ability and strong customer service skills.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
• Ability to manage a team and adapt to change.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Your own vehicle (advantageous).
