What you’ll do
- Lead nursing care on the unit so that it meets professional and ethical standards, and monitor that care within a multi-disciplinary quality team.
- Manage staff numbers, skill mix and unit costs so care stays safe and cost-effective. Also handle billing, stock, purchasing and patient files.

- Lead, coach and mentor nursing staff. Handle orientation for new staff and students, attendance, conduct and change, and work with Netcare’s education division on training.
- Build good working relationships with doctors, nursing staff, suppliers and other departments. Help the hospital move towards Netcare’s transformation targets and digital systems, including electronic patient records and e-scripts.
What you need
- A nursing qualification and registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). The advert does not list a specific qualification, so check the full requirements on the official page.
- Experience in high care or critical nursing, and in leading a nursing team. Check the official page for the exact number of years.
