A Brief Introduction to the Job Description
The VKB Group’s agri-processing division, VKB Agri Processors (Pty) Ltd, has four different subsidiaries, and one of those subsidiaries is called VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd.
The VKB Group is a significant player in the agricultural industry in South Africa, and the company works hard to add meaningful value to the sector by adhering to industry standards of excellence in terms of best practices, continuous improvement, and world-class operations.
In addition to its white maize mills in Mokopane, Louis Trichardt, and Mashishing, located in the province of Limpopo, VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd. also runs a wheat mill and bakery in Frankfort, which is located in the state of the Free State.
The company provides its workers with the opportunity to utilize and expand their existing skills and knowledge while working in an atmosphere that is both challenging and rewarding.
PROGRAM OF APPRENTICESHIP
Grain Handling NQF3 is a traineeship that VKB Agriculture provides as a part of our overall learnership program.
This traineeship is based in the grain industry.
Learnership program is to offer unemployed individuals the opportunity to learn and develop within an Agricultural environment, specifically in Grain Handling.

A time period dedicated to learning is necessary for the acquisition of skills, which are then refined through continued practice and feedback.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Those who are currently jobless only
A qualification equivalent to or higher than a Grade 12 education is required.
Able to communicate effectively in English (the ability to communicate effectively in Afrikaans will be an asset)
Capable in the mathematical fundamentals
Being familiar with Microsoft Office on a computer will be viewed favorably.
Adding new value to the company on a consistent basis

DETAILS OF THE POSITION
The training program is designed to help the candidate, as skills are mastered, gather information or “proof” that will enable the learner to mold themselves in such a way that will enable them to become a highly successful candidate who will be able to function within a VKB Silo branch unit. The training program is compiled in such a way that it will assist the candidate.
By participating in the day-to-day operations of a Silo Branch, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn about every facet of VKB Agriculture that is even remotely possible.
Throughout the duration of the training program, the learner will be provided with the support of a specialist who will assist with his or her development in all aspects of the Silo department.
Throughout the entirety of the training period, a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, the following will be covered:
Fundamental communication skills, fundamental numeracy skills, fundamental business skills, routine care of technical and site equipment, customer service, administrative assistance, fundamental computer skills, and various grain handling skills.
