About this role

SNG Grant Thornton is recruiting trainee accountants for its Johannesburg office in Gauteng. This is a three-year training contract. It is designed to build your practical experience so you can register as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).

What you’ll do

• Work on a wide range of commercial client assignments across different business sectors.
• Build the practical experience needed to complete your ACCA competencies.
• Learn from mentors and senior leaders who support your development.
• Help the audit team deliver a high standard of service to clients.
• Work with diverse teams and take part in day-to-day client work.
• Grow your professional judgment, technical skills and problem-solving over time.

What you need

• ACCA affiliate status: you have passed all ACCA exams, or you will finish them by December 2026.
• You have selected Advanced Auditing as one of your ACCA modules.
• Or, for graduates: an ACCA-accredited degree from a residential university, with auditing as a major subject.
• South African citizenship.
• Strong technical ability.
• Attention to detail and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to relate well to clients.
• Sound professional judgment.
• Strong organisational skills.
• A keen willingness to learn and a commitment to your own growth.
