SAICA Graduate Programme - Trainee Accountant

About this role

SNG Grant Thornton is recruiting first-year trainee accountants for 2027. You will be based in East London and join the Assurance division. The role is a training contract that builds the SAICA competencies you need to register as a Chartered Accountant (SA).

What you’ll do

• Complete your training contract within the Assurance division, working on real client engagements.
• Work with clients and management directly, not only behind the scenes.
• Gain exposure to a wide range of client sectors and business types.
• Learn from businesses of all sizes, from listed companies to new entrepreneurial start-ups.
• Build your skills with mentorship and guidance from experienced staff.
• Speak to managers and partners when you need help, with an open-door approach to learning.

What you need

• An Honours, PGDA or CTA qualification, or an equivalent level qualification, from a SAICA-recognised university.
• Strong technical ability.
• Attention to detail, plus good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with clients.
• Sound professional judgement.
• A keen willingness to learn and the energy to add to an audit team.
• A commitment to your own growth and development.
• The ability to work well in diverse teams.
• Strong organisational skills.
