SAICA Graduate Programme - Feb 2028

About this role

SNG Grant Thornton is recruiting first-year trainee accountants for its Assurance division in Johannesburg. The training contract starts in February 2028 and is designed to help you complete the SAICA competencies needed to register as a Chartered Accountant.

What you’ll do

• Complete a training contract that gives you broad exposure across many client sectors.
• Work hands-on with clients and their management teams.
• Learn about businesses of every size, from listed companies to new, owner-run start-ups.
• Build your skills with support from mentors, managers and partners, who keep an open-door approach.
• Join an audit team and contribute energy and fresh ideas.
• Work towards the SAICA competencies that lead to registration as a Chartered Accountant.

What you need

• Required: An Honours, PGDA or CTA qualification, or an equivalent level qualification, from a SAICA-recognised university.
• Strong technical ability.
• A high level of attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Sound professional judgement.
• A real willingness to learn and a commitment to your own growth.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in diverse teams.
