SAICA Graduate Trainee Accountant

About this role

SNG Grant Thornton is recruiting first-year trainee accountants for 2027 in its Cape Town Assurance division. The role is a training contract that moves you towards registration as a Chartered Accountant (CA) with SAICA.

What you’ll do

• Complete your SAICA training contract, working towards the competencies you need to register as a Chartered Accountant.
• Work on audit engagements across a wide range of client sectors.
• Get hands-on experience with clients and their management teams.
• Learn how different businesses run, from listed companies to small, owner-run start-ups.
• Build your skills with guidance from mentors and senior staff.
• Bring energy and a willingness to learn to the audit team.

What you need

• An Honours, PGDA or CTA qualification, or an equivalent level qualification, from a SAICA-recognised university.
• Strong technical ability.
• A high level of attention to detail, with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with clients.
• Sound professional judgement.
• A commitment to your own development and growth.
• The ability to work well in diverse teams.
• Strong organisational skills.
