SALARY: R 228 828.00 p.a. – R 255 780,00 p.a. 

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12. –
• Code 08 Driver’s License will be an added advantage.
• Studying towards a qualification in Library & Information Science will be an added advantage. Computer Certificate (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent Communication & Interpersonal skills.
• Skills and competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, assertiveness/leadership skills, conflict and stress management, negotiation skills, problem solving skills, office/diary management skills, strong administrative skills, writing and typing skills, attention to detail.
• A hard-working self-disciplined person with excellent communication and literature skills.
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in a Public Library or Administration within Local Government Authority.

DUTIES

• Perform counter duties and assist in the provision of outreach services by: 
• Receiving and issuing library material and rendering of service.
• Register new members: completing membership cards if qualifying as member.
• Provide information to learners and general users.
• Reader guidance and reading promotion programmes.
• Shelving books in an alphabetical order and according to standardised library systems. -Perform administrative duties by:
• Making photocopies, processing fines, handle all telephone enquiries, process renewals, recording statistics, processing periodical and newspapers. 
• Responsible for stock control (stationery and cleaning materials).
• Covering and mending of damaged books. 
• Successful candidates will be expected to perform work on Saturdays.
• Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
